The John Stewart Company has been around since 1989 when California artist John Stewart decided to scan some images that interested him and that he thought might appeal to others. The first product was "Antiquities" which was released as shareware by The Software Labs, in Los Angeles, California. They called it "the best of it's kind"...a very nice thing for them to say.

Clip art from the John Stewart Company has been used in many projects from books on poetry and psychology to several Web pages. It is in the process of being used by a group in Minnesota called "CURE" that is involved in preserving the rivers of that area. Users are eclectic in countries of origin. We've had orders and inquiries from Russia, Denmark, Micronesia, Poland, Brazil, Japan, Egypt, Taiwan, etc. Fortunately art has it's own universal language.
Many of our products have been featured on Compuserve's DTP Forum, AOL's DTP area, a Corel Corp. Cdrom, "Multi-media World" Cdrom, the Internet's Desktop Publishing Com, the Software Labs web pages, Ziff-Davis Web Pages, and others. There have been thousands of downloads of our product samples from Compuserve, AOL, Software Labs, and others since 1990.
