It is titled "The Oak River Piano CD" and has just been released at this very moment. __On Tuesday mornings, John has been playing piano for the residents of The Oak River Rehabilitation Center in Anderson, California for over a year now. They are a wonderful bunch of seniors that can't fend for themselves and need assistance in living their everyday lives. It's amazing how many lyrics and songs that they remember. All of the songs on this CD are favorites of the Oak River residents. Each has a special significance to it. They love the old hyms and Stewart has included two of these: "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden". There is an hour of great music on this CD that you will truly enjoy. John is a self taught musician, and doesn't read a note of music, but has been playing since the age of seven. His music has jazz, classical, gospel and foreign influences. He likes to experiment with synthesized sounds, but also spends a lot of time at his Schimmel concert grand piano. Back in the 60's he played in clubs around the Los Angeles area with his own duo and trio. He currently lives in Northern California and plays at his church, coffee houses, restaurants, weddings, fashion shows and retirement homes. He has written scores of songs and especially likes to play jazz standards, Broadway, movie themes and his own compositions.
