YELLOWSTONE MUSEUM HAPPENING! Susan Kraft, supervisory museum curator for Yellowstone National Park saw one of John's paintings on the Internet and made the decision to acquire it for their permanent collection. It is a small painting (11 x 14 inches) of Yellowstone Falls. As Susan had put it: "If we were able to buy the painting from you, we would like to add it to our fine arts collection, which includes works by Thomas Moran, J.H. Twachtman, James Everett Stuart and a few other notables." John's comment: 'It took me about 2 seconds to make up my mind about this, and I really feel honored to be hanging with that group!'A NEW GALLERY IN TOWN! John just signed a contract with a new Los Angeles gallery. It's the Studio Gallery at 7282 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. It's owner is artist/architect Steve Meadows who took an old flower shop previously owned by Patricia Arquette and turned it into a high-tech up-town gallery. Steve's wife is renouned talk host Leeza Gibbons and they plan to cater to a broad-based clientel. The gallery manager is Cammy Gibbons, an attractive lady with a very warm personality. They have some incredible artists including veteran artist Morris Broderson, Steve Meadows and a stable of 46 others. John will be showing 8 pieces to start and one of his construction pieces will be auctioned off for charity on opening night. A new adventure, for sure! SITE REVAMPING! We have been working hard to simplify Jstewart.com. It started with 1 page back in 1995 and had grown to include over 216 separate pages. So, it was becoming a problem, so I've been reworking, throwing out, restructuring and I hope it is easier to navigate. We just updated our Art Book Store and added a lot of book titles and jazz titles in the music section. Check it out at:http://www.jstewart.com/ab.html Any imput would be appreciated. Feedback |
